IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Always follow these basic safety instructions to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, serious personal injury and/or property damage.
Please read all instructions and save this manual for future reference.
- Do not immerse cooker in water or use slow cooker near water.
- Unplug appliance from the electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
- Do not use cooker without ceramic insert in place. Only put food in ceramic insert, do not place food directly on the slow cooker housing.
- This product is not intended for use by children. Keep out of reach of small children and pets. Adult supervision is recommended if using slow cooker near children.
- For household use only, do not use slow cooker outdoors.
- Ceramic insert can get hot during use. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs only.
- Avoid sudden changes in temperature, such as adding refrigerated foods to a heated cooker.
- Do not use if the slow cooker’s cord or plug is damaged, if the cooker is malfunctioning, or if the cooker itself is damaged in any way.
- The use of accessory attachments is not recommended and can cause injury.
- Do not place cooker on or near a heated gas or electric stovetop. Cooker is not oven or microwave safe.
- The slow cooker is only intended for use on the countertop. It is recommended to use a heat-resistant trivet or cutting board underneath the appliance to avoid possible heat damage to the countertop surface.
- Do not overload electrical outlet or extension cord as this increases the risk of fire or electrical shock.
- Do not use slow cooker for any other purposes not stated in these instructions.
- Do not leave cooker unattended while in use or while plugged into an outlet.
- Always unplug your slow cooker from the electrical outlet and allow to cool before removing the insert or cleaning.
- Slow cooker housing is not dishwasher safe.
- Always allow your cooker to cool completely before storing away.
- Use extreme caution when moving the cooker when heated or containing hot food.
- Do not attempt to service this slow cooker yourself. This could expose you to dangerous voltage and other risks. Please contact a qualified service person.
- Use extreme caution when lifting, putting on, and removing the glass lid. Always use a potholder or oven mitt as the cooker can get very hot. Always allow hot condensation to drip back into the unit.
POWER CORD INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not let the power cord come into contact with hot surfaces or hang off the edge of the counter.
- Always plug the power cord into the electrical outlet before turning on the product.
- This product comes with a short power-supply cord or detached power-supply cord. Longer power-supply cords or extension cords may be used if caution is exercised in their use.
- When using a long detachable cord or extension cord: (1) The marked electrical rating must be at least as great as the electrical rating of the product, and (2) The cord must never hang over the edge of the counter or table where it can be pulled accidentally.
POLARIZED PLUG
To reduce the risk of electrical shock, this appliance comes equipped with a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other blade). This plug is designed to fit into an electrical outlet in only one direction. If you are unable to insert the plug into the outlet fully, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not fit into the outlet, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to alter the plug in any way.
UNDERSTANDING YOUR SLOW COOKER

BEFORE FIRST USE
IMPORTANT: Please double check that all packaging material has been removed from the appliance before operating.
- Wipe down all surfaces with a nonabrasive, damp cloth and dry completely.
- Wash the ceramic insert and glass lid with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before placing the insert back into the cooker housing.
USING YOUR SLOW COOKER
CONTROL SETTINGS:
HIGH -- Designed to reach final simmering temperature in ~4 hours and stay at that temperature.
LOW -- Designed to reach a slightly lower final simmering temperature in longer and stay at that temperature.
WARM -- Not intended for cooking. Warm is a much lower heating setting designed to keep cooked food warm prior to serving.
USING YOUR SLOW COOKER
- Place your cooker on a clean, dry, non-slippery, level surface near an electrical outlet. Make sure there is roughly eight inches of cleared space around the exterior of the cooker.
- Add any liquid ingredients. Gently add solid ingredients. Always allow for at least 2 inches of space at the top of the ceramic insert.
- Plug your power cord into the electrical outlet.
- Turn the control knob to the desired heat setting.
- Use extreme caution when moving the ceramic insert when heated or containing hot food.
- Always use potholders or oven mitts when using your slow cooker.
- The ceramic insert is metal utensil safe.
- Turn the control knob to “Off.”
- Unplug the cooker from the outlet and allow to cool before cleaning and storing.
CAUTION: Do not cook whole raw meats, chickens, or fish. Cut up meats and large vegetables into chunks prior to cooking. Always defrost frozen food before putting them into the cooker.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service states that all meats, including fish, poultry, beef, etc, should be cooked thoroughly before consuming using a food thermometer (not included) to determine the internal temperature. See the USDA website for information about food temperatures.
NEVER LEAVE YOUR COOKER UNATTENDED WHILE IT IS PLUGGED IN
CLEANING
- Always unplug your slow cooker from the electrical outlet and allow to cool completely before cleaning.
- Once the cooker has cooled down, remove the lid and bowl from the cooker housing.
- The ceramic insert is dishwasher safe.
- The glass lid is dishwasher safe.
- Slow cooker housing is not dishwasher safe.
NEVER IMMERSE THE COOKER BASE, PLUG, OR CORD IN WATER.
- It is not recommended to pour cool water into the insert while it still hot as it can crack the ceramic.
- Do not immerse the cooker base, plug, or cord in water or any other liquid. Keep away from water at all times.
- Always allow your cooker to cool completely before storing away.
- Dry all surfaces thoroughly before storing. Always store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
